I read an interesting article recently on the New York Times' website. The article, For the Brain, Remembering Is Like Reliving, discusses a recent study which, for the first time, records and individual's brain cells in the act of recalling a memory. This study allows researchers to see and understand not only where a remembered experience is registered in the brain, but also, how the brain is able to recreate it.
This new study, and in turn the findings, will significantly further the possible treatments and cure for diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia. You can read the full article here.
